Orient Express Train
Description
The newly built Orient Express train offers deluxe services for
passengers to Sapa - Lao Cai and vice versa.
Orient Express Train is wooden carriage, soft sleeper AC cabin with soft
4 berths and 6 berths with toilet at either ends. Each berth is equipped
with individual reading lights, baggage storage and spacious trunk for
suite case and hand luggage. The train provide also water and cold
tower.
Note
on The Ticket
- Passengers are recommended
to travel in first class (deluxe) cabin, 4 soft berths.
- Child fare: under 5 years: free of charge if sharing
bed with parent; 5 years up: adult rate.
- One way transfer from hotel to Hanoi Train Station included
- All cabins are air-conditioned, WC not in cabin.
Lao
Cai – Sapa Transfer
The
Hanoi - Lao Cai train stops at Lao Cai Railway Station, just 40
km from Sapa; in order to reach Sapa, you will need to
travel an hour and a half more through a connecting bus
or private car. The bus stops at Sapa's main Post
Office, leaving you with some minutes walk into town. It
can also stop at your hotel, depending upon the location
of the hotel. Ticket prices for connecting buses Lao Cai
- Sapa are 30000VND or US$2/way.
The
tourist bus back to Lao Cai leaves from outside Sapa's
church, but usually it can pick you up at your hotel.
You can inquire with the staff at your hotels for
getting a bus ticket back to Lao Cai Railway Station.
