Tonkin Heritage Express Train
Description
Tonkin Heritage Express operates their own passenger cars that are
attached to the trains hauled by Vietnam Railways locomotives, departing
and arriving with the same schedule.
Passenger cars are divided in two classes: Sleeper 2-Berth in
compartments for 1-2 passengers and Sleeper 4-Berth in compartments for
1-4 passengers. Customers who wish to enjoy some privacy by reserving
the whole compartment can select the maximum number of passengers and
purchase all the tickets.
More than just a breakthrough in train cabin design, All cabins offers a
luxurious bed with 100% cotton bedding, ensuring a soft and restful
sleep. Every detail within the cabin reflects the spirit of the
mountains and the rustic charm of Northwest Vietnam, bringing nature and
tradition into your journey.

Note on The Ticket
- Passengers are recommended
to travel in first class (deluxe) cabin, 4 soft berths.
- Child fare: under 5 years: free of charge if sharing
bed with parent; 5 years up: adult rate.
- One way transfer from hotel to Hanoi Train Station
included
- All cabins are air-conditioned, WC not in cabin.
Lao Cai – Sapa Transfer
The Hanoi - Lao Cai train stops at Lao Cai Railway Station, just 40 km from Sapa; in order to reach Sapa, you will need to travel an hour and a half more through a connecting bus or private car. The bus stops at Sapa's main Post Office, leaving you with some minutes walk into town. It can also stop at your hotel, depending upon the location of the hotel. Ticket prices for connecting buses Lao Cai - Sapa are 60000VND or US$2.5/way.
The tourist bus back to Lao Cai leaves from outside Sapa's church, but usually it can pick you up at your hotel. You can inquire with the staff at your hotels for getting a bus ticket back to Lao Cai Railway Station.
