According to
the Department of Culture and Information in Sapa district,
compared to this time last year, the number of tourists to
Sapa in Tet rose remarkably. Specifically, a total of over
20.000 passengers (including nearly more than 1000
international tourists) has come to Sapa. Thus, the number
of visitors to Sapa has reached nearly 55.000 people in
early 2014 (of which 44 943 were domestic tourists,
international visitors accounted for 9585 respectively ).
This is a signal that Sapa is still an interesting
tourist
destination in Vietnam.
Le Manh Hao, Head of Culture and Information of Sapa
District said "With the increasing number of tourists to
Sapa at the year beginning, 2014 is predicted be a year for
favorable development of Sapa tourism".
During Tet Giap Ngo (Vietnamese Lunar New Year of the
Horse), Sapa was blessed with very good weather, cool
climate, the average temperature between 18 and 20 degrees
Celsius favorable to for Spring sightseeing and it has
attracted thousands of tourists during the New Year
holidays. In tourist areas such as
Ham Rong mountain,
ancient rock field, Silver Waterfall, Rattan Bridge... were
crowded with visitors. Besides, tourists also visited
villages of ethnic minority people in the commune of Ta Phin,
Ta Van, Hau Thao, Bac Ha...to enjoy the unique taste of New
Year of hill tribe peoples.
As a hillside resort in north Vietnam, Sapa has become a
popular destination for foreign travellers in recent years,
more and more visitors take a
tour to Sapa and experience
the beauty of nature in Sapa, learn about local life of
ethnic minorities in mountainous areas. Most people
visit Sapa by trains from Hanoi, however with the new highway
being built travel time to Sapa is expected to shorten in
the near future. |
